Calvary Bible Church is a missionary endeavor. The means and methods we use to “make disciples of all the nations,” (Matt. 28:19) and to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15) is, and should be, the same as what we are doing here at our local church. The Word must be preached, a body raised-up, equipped, and shepherded to go and tell the Gospel to those who do not know.
From those new believers, more Bible Studies can be started, growth begun, leadership detected and trained, and a new church plant is realized. This is the biblical model that Paul illustrates throughout his letters to the churches.
You need to see yourself as part of that biblical model. As you hear the Word at Calvary, grow in biblical understanding and knowledge, increase in service, and even take leadership challenges, you are a big part of the missionary endeavor to preach the Gospel to those who have not heard it.
Whether that takes place in children's Sunday School, on the streets of Burbank, or as a missionary field worker, your responsibility and purpose is the same. To be a witness of your faith and to help disciple new believers is what you should be aiming for or doing. Look at it as a “mission” and become prepared for future Missions Team events to
