The more we examine the Christian life, the more we should begin to realize that it is a life that is to be lived out through the local church. Many families feel that their church attendance and involvement is nothing more than a voluntary act that is to be carried out as long as it does not interfere with their personal agendas. And while each family needs to prayerfully consider their season in life, they must never forsake their calling to the local church (Hebrews 10:24-25). As parents, we must do everything that we can to establish our families in the local church. And while this may not always be convenient, I am confident that God will honor this commitment.
Here are just a few ways for you to establish your family in the local church:
It is not always easy to commit to the local church. In our society there are more than enough “good” things to do. But the local church is something that we are not to forsake. While the circumstances of life may present you with good excuses for easing back on this commitment, allow me to encourage you to stand–fast. In the end, the church will be strengthened and so will your family.
