Not Just ‘Another’ New Year’s Resolution

December, 2006

by: Tim Carns

As the years come and go, I’m sure many of us could list several New Year’s Resolutions that we have made. Some resolutions may have made it to the end of the year while many others barely see the light of February. Well, this January 1st, in addition to considering that hobby you will pursue or diet you will attempt, why not try the “One Anothering” resolution? In past Calvary Review articles we have looked at the importance of ministering to the body of Christ here at Calvary through our spiritual gifts (Rom 12:6) and the many one anothers found in Scripture. A list of 52 one anothers as gleaned from various passages in the Bible are given below. I want to challenge you to consider focusing on one of these each week. Look at the passage referenced for the one another listed and see what it means in context. Then list at least two specific ways to apply that one another during the week. Pray for God to give you those opportunities. Some of the one anothers are so important that they are repeated frequently in Scripture (as you will see in the list). If you are faithful to keep this “One Anothering” resolution you will be amazed, not only at the impact you can have on others in the church, but also how you yourself will be impacted by doing them.
