Our class is purposefully designed to establish a sense of Biblical Community in our church that ministers to people through practical Scriptural instruction, purposeful spiritual formation, and personal spiritual friendships. We are trying to press into the mold that was cast in the first century church, where the believers lived out their Christianity with one another in a real way: Acts 2:42-47 describes their gatherings:
"They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved."
It is our desire that you will be able to connect into the life of the church in the same way. Church is the last place that people should feel alone in the crowd. For this reason, in our ministry we want to emphasize the importance of spiritual relationships that encourage one another into Christlikeness (Heb. 3:13). This arises from the conviction that Sunday morning is not the only ministry that happens among the people of God, but it is the overflow of and greater means to personal, life-on-life ministry within and throughout the interdependent Body of Christ.
If we can assist you further or help you in any way, do not hesitate to contact me. Of course it would be our delight if you would continue with us in the Community of Faith Ministry. We are a relatively new ministry at Calvary, and are moving quickly to establish Home Bible Studies, Home FLOCKS (community groups), and much, much more. We will be praying for you and God's direction for your involvement in the life of our church.
