Compass seeks to help singles in their 20’s and 30’s to pursue what 1 Corinthians 7:32-35 describes as “undistracted devotion to the Lord.” We understand that singleness is a gift from God for the glory of God. We are seeking to build a “family” that strives after 5 core values:

1. Love for and submission to the truth – God’s Word
2. Creating an atmosphere of unconditional love – patience, kindness, gentleness, and compassion for one another
3. Prioritizing authentic, spiritual relationships over all programs and activities
4. Submitting to God’s sovereignty through faithful prayer for the ministry and for one another
5. Equipping and developing humble, servant leaders who work well in teams to do the work of the ministry

We meet for Bible study and Fellowship on Friday nights. We emphasize 3 things in our study of God’s Word:

1. The accurate and true interpretation of Scripture
2. The application and significance of that truth to transform our attitudes and actions
3. The precise and consistent use of Bible study skills (hermeneutics)

In addition to a wonderful time studying God’s Word, we also spend our evening sharing our lives and praying for one another with some food and fun. We have one weekend retreat a year and various activities occur throughout the year including hiking, service to shut-ins, trips around the LA area, weekly dinners, and much more.
