Calvary Missionaries

As a family, the Harneys are involved in church planting among the Manjak people, which include such aspects as literacy programs, Bible translation, Bible teaching and discipleship. Their purpose is to see those led to Christ in their ministry functioning in dependence on the Holy Spirit, reaching out to others, growing as believers and multiplying themselves in others. Their goal is to communicate the Word of God faithfully and clearly to both believers and unbelievers.

For the past 17 years, the Harneys have lived and worked in the village of Toniatoba and Santiaba in Senegal. The past two years they have been living in Dakar and working on Bible translation. Wanda helps with Bible translation checks.

• Pray for us to continue to grow in the Lord; that we would seek the Lord daily for His wisdom and guidance.
• Pray for continued growth in Christ for the believers we are discipling, that they would apply God’s Word to their lives and be bold in the face of persecution, either real or imagined.
• Pray for more laborers to help us. There are Manjak believers in Dakar who have helped some in the translation of the book of Romans. Pray God will challenge some of them to be translators themselves. We would like to see four or five trained for this in the next two years.
