Key Scripture
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Psalms 103:13-14
Biography
I was raised in the Christian church. I certainly thought of myself as a Christian. I, without question, knew the stakes of my decision. However, about the time I turned 18 and left for college, a combination of events caused me to gravely doubt everything I had ever been taught of Christianity. I rebelled at length and depth. I sought a means around Jesus, but found that none existed.
Fortunately, God saw fit to humble me and grant me repentance. Since that time, he has steadily been gracious to change my life. I can well agree with John Newton, who said, “I am sure He chose me before I was born, or else He never would have chosen me afterwards; and He must have elected me for reasons unknown to me, for I never could find any reason in myself why He should have looked upon me with special love.”
I am currently involved with the Compass singles group. I am married to Kelley, who has been a comfort and a blessing to me. We have five children, Cassandra, Eddie, Phillip, Aubrey & Justin. Our first son, Eddie, went to be with the Lord shortly before his first birthday.
