Welcome

I would like to personally welcome you to this local body of believers called Calvary Bible Church. Our name will help you understand who we are and what we are all about.

First, we are Calvary Bible Church. Calvary is the place where Jesus Christ our Savior died on the cross to ransom us from the consequences of our sins. Calvary is where He bore our sins, suffered our shame, and was crushed for our iniquities. He did this that through faith we might receive, as a gift, eternal life and be reconciled to God. As a church, we exist to make disciples of all nations through the preaching of the gospel and proclaiming what Christ accomplished for us at Calvary. The Word of the cross of Calvary is the power of God for all who believe on Him as Lord and Savior.

We are also Calvary Bible Church. We believe the Bible is the very Word of God and that it is infallible and inerrant, giving us everything we need for life and godliness, equipping every true believer for every good work. Calvary Bible Church exists as a pillar and support of this truth. The Bible is our greatest earthly treasure and that is why we must guard the truth, retain the standard of sound words, and speak the things fitting for sound doctrine. The only way we can worship God, please God, and love God, is by submitting to God's Word, the Bible. We do this by being constantly nourished on the words of the faith and sound doctrine.

We are also Calvary Bible Church. There is a universal church comprised of all true believers of all the ages. We are a local church, a body of people who profess to have a common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We gather together in a building to worship in spirit, truth, and holiness, but the building is not the Church, it is the place where the Church meets. Everyone in the universal Church has been given spiritual gifts, by the Holy Spirit, for the edification of this local body of believers. We gather as a Church to be equipped for the work of the ministry by the preaching and teaching of the Word of God. We seek to do all things for the glory of God!
