Dear Calvary Bible Church,
As Christians, we have been saved to serve. Though our contemporary culture is all about getting from others, Christians are to be focused on giving unto others, as we have lavishly received from Christ. So where are you presently serving? Mark 10:45 says about our Savior, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Following Christ’s example, let us be highly committed participants in our service to Christ and others, rather than passive spectators. -Pastor Kempiz Hernandez
Opportunities to Serve
We've listed a bunch of different opportunities to serve and be more deeply connected to the church body. Not all of these service opportunities are on a weekly basis. Some are reocurring on Sunday, some are a once-a-month Sunday commitment, some happen weekly/monthly behind the scenes, some are project based every few months. There are a variety of ways that you can serve Christ and His church.

Hospitality Ministry Are you good with strangers? Do you want to grow in being welcoming? Join the Hospitality Ministry and greet people before the service or serve at the Information Center. Contact Mark Mulcahey.
CBC Kids Enjoy talking with kids? Available to serve at the Prize Table or in childcare on Sunday mornings? Complete Ministry Volunteer Application form for a background check to serve in childcare. Teachers must be CBC members.
SPECIFIC NEEDS (as of OCT 2021): Teacher for 2-year-old room twice a month during 2nd hour. Volunteers to be on an S.O.S. substitute list. Contact Maureen.
Ushers Ushers needed during Sunday Service to greet people, help them find a seat, distribute communion elements, provide directions to visitors, etc. Contact Jaime Zuniga if interested.
Music Ministry Do you have a musical background? Would you consider joining the band's monthly rotation or special occasion (Men's Ministry events, Women's Ministry events, The Christmas Concert, etc.) worship team? Must be a CBC member to serve in this ministry. Contact Ian Martin.
The Gathering Love to serve meals and socialize? On the second Monday of every month, help is needed with registration, food prep, serving the meal, and clean-up for the Gathering. Contact Jim Barnfather to volunteer.
Kitchen Ministry Have the gift of hospitality? Enjoy preparing or serving meals? The Kitchen Team needs you!
SPECIFIC NEED (as of October 2021): Women needed to serve at the Men's Conference on Saturday, October 23rd. Contact Sharon Brown.
Church Maintenance Need some indoor exercise? Volunteers needed to vacuum the Worship Center, stairs to Room 1, and mop large entrance areas on Monday nights. Contact Sharon Brown if available.
MOMS Childcare Enjoy spending time with kids? Available to help with childcare for MOMs on Tuesday mornings? Complete Ministry Volunteer Application form for a background check to serve in childcare. Contact Laurena with questions.
Book Nook Love to read? Love the smell of books? Volunteers needed to serve in the bookstore on Sunday mornings. Contact Brenda McAlpine.
Church Maintenance Do you like things neat and tidy? Volunteers needed weekly to straighten and restock the pew racks with Welcome Cards, Offering envelopes, and pencils. Available even once a month? Contact Ruth in the church office.
Tech Team Are you tech-savvy or would you like to learn a new skill? We need men AND women to serve on the tech team. Tech team helps with the Sunday Service, Men's Events, Women's Events, and plenty more. Learn how to run the sound board, Proclaim slides, lighting, etc. Training provided. Contact John Barnfather.
Media Ministry Are you skilled at photography, videography, social media management, or graphic design? Do you have an interest in learning these skills? Volunteers needed to help capture and communicate the ministry events of the church. Contact Sofia Calderon.
Administrative & Event-Coordinating Do you enjoy decorating? Do you have administrative skills? Volunteers needed in these areas for various church-wide events. Contact Ruth in the church office.
