Partnering With Parents to Help Children Come to Know, Love and Follow Jesus Christ
Are you a parent looking for a church that will serve your family? Perfect, because the Children's Ministries of CBC exist in order to support and encourage you by offering quality programs and various resources that will help your children to grow in their knowledge of, love for, and obedience to Jesus Christ. From the cradle to 5th grade, we offer Sunday morning and weekday ministries to help you meet the spiritual needs of your children.
Childcare and pre-school classes are available during both the main service and the fellowship group meetings on Sunday mornings. You can feel secure dropping off your child because we run a background check on every volunteer. In addition, we also have a check-in system that allows only those individuals that you have personally designated to pick up your child.
We know your child will have a great time in our structured and fun classrooms. There is a Bible story or lesson given in each age group, including infants. In addition, time is given for singing, coloring or a craft, free play, and a snack.
Infants From the time your child is born, to right before they start walking, they will find themselves in this room. We have cribs for naps, changing tables to change their diapers and maintain a 1:2 child to adult ratio.
Toddlers As soon as your child is walking, up until their second birthday, they will find themselves in this room. Children have snack, play time and a Bible story during both services. We maintain a 1:3 child to adult ratio.
2s For children who are two-years old. Children have snack, play time, singing and a Bible story during both services. We maintain a 1:4 child to adult ratio.
3s For children who are three-years old. Children have snack, playground time, singing and a Bible story during both services. We maintain a 1:6 child to adult ratio.
4s For children who are four-years old. Children have snack, playground time, singing and a Bible story during both services. We maintain a 1:6 child to adult ratio.
K-5th During the first service children this age are grouped by gender and age. They will spend time learning more about God through the lesson and interaction with their teachers. During second service these children come together at Children's Church, which is set up to mirror the main worship service with singing, offering, prayer, and teaching. If you stay both services, an adult leader will transition your child between classes.
AWANA is a unique Bible-based program for children from as young as 3-years-old all the way up to 12th grade. We challenge them to commit God’s Word to their hearts. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment that will allow your child to learn more about the person of Jesus Christ. Each week we have a time in which your child can share with us the verses and sections in their handbook that they have completed.
This year we have some exciting nights planned for the children. Make sure you don't miss the exciting demonstration from Fireman Greg, or the amazing creepy and crawly animals of the Reptile Man. Older kids will have a thrilling time racing their cars during the Grand Prix and all ages can look forward to the fun Harvest Festival.

Vacation Bible School
For over 20 years, Calvary Bible Church has been hosting children for a week-long Vacation Bible School. We invite your child to join us for a week of studying the Bible, watching engaging skits, creating exciting crafts, playing fun games, and the crowd favorite, eating snacks! This year VBS will be taking place July 9th-13th.
This year we are going to take a journey back in time, discovering Jesus from eternity past to eternity future! With this VBS 2018 curriculum, we’re going to travel through time and meet the most important man ever--a man who was not just a man, but also God. One who turned the world upside-down. One who existed outside of time. We'll do just that as we embark on Time Lab. We'll use words beginning with "C" to help us remember that Jesus, our forever faithful, loving, caring, promise-keeping Lord, has been with us always:
Time sure will fly while we're having fun. So head this way and get ready to launch into hyperdrive as we take off for Time Lab! Let's go!
Make sure to check out the video below from our 2017 VBS. If you have any questions, Jane Robledo would love to help you out. You can reach her at 818.556.4840 x210 or send an email.
Joyful Noise is the CBC children's choir for students in Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grades, meeting on Sunday evenings for rehearsals for various singing opportunities throughout the school year (typically September through April/May). Rehearsals include vocal warm-ups, learning the notes, rhythm, and words of the songs, along with some basic music theory taught using fun, interactive, classroom-style methods. The students are also introduced to various musical instruments, with a few special guests during the year to demonstrate. We close out the year with a Pizza Party and Talent Show.
Pre-registration and fee required for participation. Joyful Noise is directed by Ruth Fish. For more information you can call her at 818.556.4840 x200 or send her an email.
