Rosie Martinez closed out our series with a brief overview of Paul's letter to the Galatians, providing the theological foundation or purpose for this letter, in addressing justification by faith alone. As followers of Christ, we must first understand the theological indicatives, or foundation of the doctrinal truth of redemption, justification, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Those indicatives are the power to obey the imperatives or commands given by Paul in this letter to the Galatians. Once we have understood and embraced those doctrinal truths, we are called to obey and live out that truth through the power of the Holy Spirit, who enables and empowers us to produce the fruit of the Spirit. How do we do that? Keeping in step with the Spirit, the one imperative or command in this near context, is done in the power of the Holy Spirit, using the means of grace and the spiritual disciplines of The Word of God, Prayer, and the church.
