I grew up in the church, in a godly home, but I didn't get saved until my 30s. Though I work with computers as my day job, I count the minutes until I clock out so I can do what I really want—to be serving God's kingdom, studying God's Word, and teaching His people.
Calvary is home because many years ago, when our family was deciding where to plant ourselves, we fell in love with the people of CBC. With the adherence to biblical exposition, the godly leadership, and the excellent teaching, Calvary had, and still has, our hearts.
In my computer job, I use the tag line, "Friendly help you can understand." That is a great summary of my ministry philosophy, too! I desire to teach the Bible in a way that is not only understandable, but immediately applicable. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to use my gifts in whatever way He sees fit in order to grow the body of Christ.
My hope for Calvary is that qualified, faithful leaders would continue to teach and preach the Word, leading each member to grow in their walk with the Lord; and that environment and culture of Calvary would facilitate genuine, vibrant faith in the members.
