Equipping Women to Maturity in Christ
Why We Do What We Do
Our CBC Women’s Ministry exists to equip women to live to the glory of God, in their God-given roles. We desire that every woman grow in knowledge, faith, love, and obedience to Christ so that she might enjoy a deep and abiding relationship with Him. We do this through Bible study, discipleship, prayer, fellowship, and proclaiming the gospel, all to the end that we might behold the glory of the Lord as we are being transformed into the same image. Whether you are a new believer or a more mature Christian, we would love to have you join us.
Ways We Connect
CBC WOMEN: Bible Study
We meet together to study and apply God's Word. Along with this comes mutual accountability, discipleship, fellowship, and prayer. During the school year, we offer a daytime Bible study on Tuesdays from 9:30am-12:00pm (childcare provided); and Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30pm-8:30pm. During the summer we offer book studies, where women meet to read and discuss a particular Christian book, focusing on a particular topic of the Christian life.
Summer studies have begun. Even if you are going to be gone a few weeks this summer, commit to reading a book and enjoyng the days you can attend. Click on the register button to view the list of topical studies and register.
CBC WOMEN: Together
Approximately once a quarter, we encourage all the women who call Calvary Bible Church home (and their friends!) to meet for breakfast, teaching, and breakout sessions. In 2025 we began a new series entitled In His Image. We will meet again on July 26 and November 8. In place of one of our quarterly meetings, we invite all women who call CBC "home" to attend our spring retreat.
CBC WOMEN: Hospitality
We encourage any woman in our congregation to open her home for fellowship and fun. Each host decides on the activity or theme – one might be a demonstration of how to make sourdough bread, another might be a prayer and support time for caregivers, and another might be a night of board games. The possibilities are endless. If you would like to host an event, contact the Women's Comittee to get started.
CBC WOMEN: Discipleship
We encourage one-on-one discipleship for members and regular attenders. To that end, if you want to be discipled, fill out the Form and we’ll find you a discipleship partner. We will provide guidance, as needed. This might include how to disciple and be discipled, including suggested content for discipleship times, and accountability. In addition, we offer biblical counseling for members and regular attenders. Biblical counseling is intense discipleship for believers who need something more than a regular discipleship relationship. If you need counseling or desire to be a counselor at Calvary Bible Church, visit our Counseling Ministry web page.
CBC WOMEN: Training
Current teachers, Bible study leaders, small group leaders, disciplers, and counselors are required to attend training sessions throughout the year. These sessions equip women to lead and teach effectively, and to counsel and disciple with discernment. If you believe that God is calling you to become a leader in one of these ways, talk to your small group leader.
CBC WOMEN Committee
The Women's Committee oversees, under the direction of the Elders, the activities that achieve the purposes of the CBC Women's Ministry (see top of page for purposes). They meet regularly to review needs, schedule events, and seek ways to involve the women of CBC in serving each other. If you ever have any questions, ideas, or want to volunteer to serve, feel free to email them or contact them personally. The 2025 Women's Committee: Alexa Brodsky, Esther Van Treese, Kirsten Hersh, and Laurena Townsend.
